How to Get Rid of Tarnish: Baking Soda Method
Have you ever left a beautiful, lustrous piece of silver jewelry in a drawer for who knows how long and pull it out only to discover that it has become tarnished? If you are anything like me, the answer is yes.
BISOULOVELY's silver pieces are all plated in a special metal called rhodium that not only protects against tarnish, but is also anti corrosive and scratch resistant. Here is a picture of a pair of sterling silver earrings from my own collection that I have not worn for the past 4 years:
As you can see, there is quite a bit of reddish brown tarnish that's making my earrings look cloudy. You may wonder, is it too late to salvage? 4 years is a long time to leave your jewelry unmaintained. Luckily it is not too late. We will get rid of this tarnish in less than 3 minutes! But how?
The Baking Soda Method!
I was skeptical that this method would work, but the results were amazing! Some sites also use aluminum and hot water in addition to baking soda, but the method I used was much simpler than that. Basically you need to take baking soda, and mix it with a little bit of water to form a paste like consistency. Let your jewelry sit in this paste for 2-3 minutes. Then get a damp, soft cloth and gently rub the mixture into your jewelry. I used a damp paper towel. You want to be careful not to scrub too hard because sterling silver will scratch easily. After you are done, rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Pretty amazing right? Not only is this method effective, but also cheap and accessible. Most people already have baking soda in their pantries!
